Insurance Change in 2023 (list of fees)

Insurance Change, Some Fresh Options, and a List of Fees

November 2022

Dear Patients-

I want to let you know how much I appreciate your trust in me to provide you with healthcare services. I realize you have many options and it can be difficult to determine whom to turn toward in a time of need.

With this in mind, I want to announce that after much deliberation and troubleshooting, I have decided to no longer accept insurance in my practice, beginning in 2023. The exact date will vary with each insurance company. I realize that the majority of our community has their healthcare dollars wrapped up in insurance premiums and depends on providers to work with insurances to allow access to care. Patient access is very important to me, so for the last couple of years I have tried multiple ways to work with insurances: hiring a third-party billing company, investing in the leading chiropractic industry software, working nights and weekends, and reducing the hours I can see patients. The amount of time I have needed to put toward the complexities of insurance has made this work load unsustainable. I had hoped there was a workable solution for our clinic, but unfortunately there is not. I am sorry for any negative impact of this decision on you.

It has always been my intention to provide care that addresses the complexity of the human body, mind, and spirit. The decision to discontinue insurance will help me to better address this complexity by maintaining longer patient visits and individualized care, as well as by refocusing time and resources directly toward improving patient outcomes through new professional knowledge, skills, equipment, and services.

Please let us know what questions you have. If you need to continue with a chiropractor who still accepts insurance, I have attached a list of local chiropractors. Lastly, I want to emphasize that this decision was hard-made and came after much thought about what is in the best interests of the long-term care of my patients. I will do my best to make this transition as smooth as possible.

Thank You for Your Understanding,

Thomas H. Krieger-Fritsch DC, APC, IFMCP
