Innovative Care to Elevate Health and Performance
Commonly Asked Questions
Lots of reasons! A chiropractor is well-suited to offer patients the most beneficial and cost-effective visit to a physician that they have ever had! Why? During your visits, you will often receive an assessment, diagnosis, and treatment all in one visit. No going to the drug store to get pills or a referral to get treatment somewhere else. A well-trained chiropractor can offer significant and lasting pain relief for many conditions while guiding you to recovery.
Most patients start with a chiropractor because of musculoskeletal pain caused by an injury or that onsets more gradually. Patients often find that not only are chiropractors well suited to be the top among physicians for drug-free pain relief, but are also very well informed about many common health problems and offer great solutions for various issues.
No. Chiropractic Medicine is a vast profession which includes; 13 different board certified specialties, an additional 8 board certified subspecialties, and roughly 200 different techniques of treatment and assessment.
What this means is that going to a chiropractor is not about going to get an adjustment, it is about going to a doctor with a medical training that emphasizes the interconnectedness of the different biological systems and provides care based on the knowledge.
So just as you might expect with your Medical or Osteopathic Doctor, based on the providers specialty, training, approach, and even personality, your experience could be very different.
Simple! I offer more. I learned early on that in a rural area, to be an asset to the patient community, I needed more skills and techniques to be able to help with more issues, more effectively. Whether practicing functional medicine or chiropractic my general approach is to do a very thorough assessment to gain an understanding of what is going on and how to best intervene. Since an adjustment might not always be the best intervention, I like to have many different tools and techniques available in my toolbox so that I might be able to offer a solution.
The other reason patients often tell me that they come to me is my ability to figure things out. I like solving problems! Whether it is sitting down and going through a patients health history and figuring out how we might use functional medicine to make meaningful changes or taking the time to assess various elements that might be involved in the sometimes complex neuro-musculo-skeletal system, one of my strengths is determining the best approach to these issues.
The first visit is longer because you have not been assessed yet and your information has not been gathered. Whether your problems are new, reoccurring, or chronic it is always beneficial to have a physician take a fresh look at it. In addition, your health story will have to be clear if meaningful value is to come from your visit.
Once you have been examined, we will discuss and come to an understanding about the best approach forward. Once an understanding is reached, treatment begins. Treatment will be updated upon patient response and to reach your goals the quickest.
Medical expenses can be complicated. Depending on whether you plan on covering the fees yourself or through a third-party like Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Auto, or Worker's compensation I work to make care affordable. In addition, patients tend to reach their goals quickly and need less care.
